The main mandate of the Exploration and Production Department is to undertake the exploration, development, production, and disposal of petroleum in collaboration with partners. The E&P department is what positions GNPC's functions beyond that of an OMC company (oil marketing company) into an NOC (National Oil Company). The department aims to position ensure that the institution has the requisite technical expertise (engineering and geoscience) to enable GNPC compete with its peers in the global petroleum E&P industry. This means harnessing all our human and material resources in a well-defined direction with a results-oriented approach in every aspect of our work.
